One million trees. One island.
A reforestation and carbon offset program by ADPS, restoring native forest across Mauritius, one site at a time, starting at Le Morne.
A structured answer to a growing pressure
Mauritius faces real environmental pressure from urbanisation, transport, waste and tourism. At the same time, more people, businesses and institutions want to take genuine climate action. This program turns that willingness into something real: a transparent, well managed way to restore forest cover across the island.
Restore native forest and ecological balance across Mauritius
Offer an accessible way to offset carbon, for individuals and organisations
Help companies and tourism partners show real environmental commitment
Track and report impact with clear, honest numbers
One programme, three kinds of expertise
The program is led by Africa Development Program Services, working alongside The Green Village and Viaterra Ltd. Together, programme management, ecological knowledge and on the ground delivery meet in one place.
ADPS
Programme management, stakeholder coordination and transparent impact reporting.
The Green Village
Ecological expertise, native species knowledge and long term land stewardship.
Viaterra Ltd
Land access and on the ground delivery capacity for planting sites.
Le Morne, Green Village
The first site under this program sits at The Green Village, Le Morne, in the shadow of Le Morne Brabant. It is where the first trees go into the ground, chosen and cared for by people who know this land well.
Every tree chosen and maintained with care
Species are selected by ecologists for what genuinely belongs here: native and endemic trees suited to the soil, the climate and the surrounding habitat. Each site is then prepared, planted and watched over time.
Site preparation
Land is assessed and prepared by ecologists ahead of any planting.
Native species selection
Trees are chosen to match the soil, climate and local habitat.
Planting
Trees go into the ground with the people and partners behind them.
Ongoing care
Growth is monitored over time, so the forest actually establishes.
There is a place in this forest for everyone
Whether you are one person or a whole organisation, there is a way to contribute that fits your scale.
Individuals

Tourists and visitors
Add a restoration contribution to your stay, through partner hotels and tour operators.
Property developers
Integrate tree planting into new developments as part of greener building practice.
Airlines and aviation partners
Support local ecological restoration as part of sustainability commitments on routes to Mauritius.
Event organisers
Estimate and offset the footprint of weddings, conferences and gatherings through tree planting.
Vehicle owners and fleets
Make an annual contribution linked to carbon awareness for a vehicle or a fleet.
Living legacy
Mark a life moment with a tree planted in someone's name. See below.
A tree for a life, well marked
Mark a birth, honour someone who has passed, celebrate a wedding or an achievement. A tree planted in someone's name keeps growing long after the moment itself, a living way to remember or to celebrate.
A lasting impact, tracked openly
More tree cover and greener landscapes across Mauritius
A stronger private sector role in sustainability
Better environmental awareness among residents and visitors
Real, measurable carbon offset at a local level
A lasting platform for partnership across sectors
